Toys export up 36.49% year on year in July

China’s toys export exceeded US$ 2.82 billion in June, up by 34.69% year on year and 71.72% over last month, of which, the export of traditional toys (include dolls, educational toys, puzzles, electric trains and toy musical instruments etc.) totaled US$ 1.52 billion, up by 17.52% year on year and 41.79% month on month, accounting for 54.00% of the total; the export of baby strollers & bicycles reached US$ 302.34 million, up by 22.39% year on year and 22.27% month on month, accounting for 10.72% of the total; the export of festive articles totaled US$ 631.14 million, up by 5.34% year on year, up by 137.51% month on month, accounting for 22.37% of the total; the export of video games(not coin or disc-operated) totaled US$ 478.55 million, accounting 16.96% of China’s total toys export this month.

Among all the export destinations this month, the U.S., ranking the first, absorbed US$ 957.46 million of China’s toys export, followed by UK and the Netherlands with US$ 196.72 million and US$ 181.02 million respectively.

FYI: At the beginning of 2014, China Customs updated Export HS Codes of toys. Two subcategories (95045010 and 95045090) were deducted from Video Games and four more subcategories (95045011, 95045019, 95045099 and 95045091) were added into video games. The data published are calculated based on the updated coding.
