Tampa Airport Takes Little Boy's Lost Stuffed Animal on Cutest Tour Ever

One little boy's reunion with his beloved stuffed animal after leaving him at the Tampa International airport came with an extra special surprise – the toy had taken a trip of his own!

After Owen Lake, 6 ages, left his favorite stuffed animal Hobbes, of the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes, behind at the Florida airport, he was distraught.

"When Owen asked for Hobbes on the plane, my husband and I looked at each other and our hearts sunk. We knew he was left behind," Owen's mother, Amanda Lake, told the Tampa Bay Times.

Luckily, while Owen was stuck in Houston at a family member's high school graduation, the airport was able to track down Hobbes at his mother's behest.

Airport operations center manager Tony D'Aiuto didn't stop there, however. He decided to give Hobbes an epic tour of the airport, posing him for photos with staff and crew.

In pictures, Hobbes hits up the employee gym, and then indulges his sweet tooth at an ice cream shop.

The stuffed tiger even posed with air traffic controller and hitched a ride on a luggage cart.

The airport shared the adorable pics of Hobbes's big adventure through their Facebook page, complete with sweet captions.

"I pitched this idea a couple of months ago after I saw a similar idea where someone took a stuffed lion around a museum," D'Aiuto said in a statement from the airport, adding, "This seemed like the perfect opportunity."

D'Aiuto took it one step further, creating a hardbound book at Walgreens that narrated Hobbes's airport adventure.

When Owen returned from Houston to Tampa Bay International, he was surprised to not only get back his toy, but also the special gift.

"Owen really loves him. He's special, and we are so thankful for the airport and what they did," Lake told the newspaper.
