MISSISSAUGA – Bollywood’s ‘Baby Doll’ is set to enthral the GTA audience during the Mahotsav Summerfest at the weekend in Mississauga.
Mahotsav is a new South Asian SummerFest running Saturday, July 11, at the International Centre (Hall 5) in Mississauga.
"We want to give people in the Greater Toronto Area a wholesome entertainment along with their friends, family and the loved ones,” said Niraj Sinha, managing director of Maple Diversity Foundation, primary host of the festival. "There will be international and local performers, best of South Asian food, music and fashion.”
The public event will also be showcasing the South Asian arts, culture, music as well as food.
The main performer at the event will be Kanika Kapoor, famously known as ‘Baby Doll’ for her 2014 superhit song Baby Doll from the Bollywood film Ragini MMS 2.
In June, Kapoor won the best female playback singer award at the 2015 IIFA Awards in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Another notable performer is Shewta Subram, who recently performed live at an event jointly addressed by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Canadian counterpart Stephen Harper at Toronto’s Ricoh Coliseum.
Beside the PropheC, Zeshan and Parichay, a number of local artists are also scheduled to entertain the crowd.
